Very nice USM1 Captain’s fixed bale combat helmet and liner set. This helmet was found on the flea market in Liege in the 2000’ and has never been touched since then. A very nice and complete Captain’s helmet. Mid-war type shell with a nicely painted captains rank in white paint on the front, we can see above the captain’s rank the « VII Army Corps » emblem which has been period scratched for an unknown reason. Shell retains well over 95% of its period paint. The rank is nicely period hand painted and exhibits crazing from age, an officer ETO combat leader bar is also painted on the back of the helmet. The chinstraps are original to the helmet and in great condition. The original liner is in very good condition and complete. The rank and name of the officer are written in yellow grease pencil in the liner. Very nice matching set of an officer who certainly participated to the Battle of the Bulge.
