Bronze Cross on original Flag size ribbon.

The Honor Cross for Veteran- and Military Societies was founded on October 28, 1902 in conjunction of the 200-year anniversary of the Saxe Weimar regiment. The Honor Cross was awarded to those societies that had been in existence for 20 years and joined with the official Veteran- and Military Society for a minimum of 10 years. The society had to be meritorious in fostering patriotic and comradery spirit. The Honor Cross had to be returned in case the society ceased to exist.

The cross was to be displayed on the societies flag suspended from two oversized ribbons.

Extremely rare cross in great condition.
