A used General's side cap that was worn by Generalmajor Gustav-Adolf von Nostitz-Wallwitz (1898 - 1945). He was an officer and promoted to General towards the end of the war.
The side cap is an upgraded other ranks model, from field-grey wool, with Generals flatwire cap eagle and metal cockade. Gilted piping has been added to the top. The cap has some stamps on its grey cotton lining.
A rare example of a late-war general's upgraded side cap.
According to our consignor, this cap was given to him by the son of von Nostitz-Wallwitz.
