A German M40 helmet. The type of helmet was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polilzei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Heer and comes with a period time red-green camo paint to the outside shell.
Paint: Original 2-color camo paint. Red and green color. Around 80% still present. Signs of wear and age.
Decals: none
Lining: Flexible leather lining. Still soft. Original cord. No size marking. Most probably 56.
The prongs were opened once.
Chin strap: Flexible. Well worn. Unmarked. Lining and strap look to have been oiled once.
Markings: Q64 to the reverse.
