Heer M40 helmet in uncleaned condition. Period time applied lining. Attached leather chin strap. The leather of the chin strap and lining is still very flexible but shows signs of use. The prongs of the rivets holding the liner in place are untouched and original. The liner looks to be named twice. One reads "Hstuf. F. Voigt".

The shell still comes with about 85% of the original color. There is some clear rust pitting to the in and outside. The marking on the inner shell in the rear is present, but very hard to read. See picture. A number "2" is barely visible.

The helmet comes with its original and extremely rare cloth cover. Tailored from splinter camouflage material. It is reversible for winter use. Still comes with its original loops to fasten additional camouflage material. Stamped "SS204".

The cover shows some rust on the winter side where the helmet rim touched the cover as well as some other rust spots and smaller holes.

The condition of the cover and helmet perfectly match!
