Description

Private purchased Heer General visor cap.

Insignia: Gold-plated tombak eagle and wreath badge. Originally attached with all prongs in place. The gold plating is a bit faded in some places.

Textbook general bouillon chinstrap, with correct buttons originally attached and in place. The buttons are corroded, and the gold plating is gone.

Gold bouillon piping.

Lining: fine light blue silk lining with some signs of wear and age.

Cellouid diamond: completely intact, with a modern (!) name-shield "Gen. Maj. H. Negendanck" added by the last owner. The manufacturer's mark is faded under the diamond but is still readable. "Erel Sonderklasse Privat"

Sweatband: light grey leather sweatband with manufacturer mark "Erel Patent Stirndruckfrei" on the right side.

Slightly worn very rare generals visor cap in nice condition. Only a few small moth bites and one barely visible stain to the front. No further damage or stains.

The hat comes with a post-war printed picture and information of Mr. Negendanck.  According to our consignor, he is actually wearing this hat on the photo.
