Description
Heer EM- (ie. NCO-) pattern, M40-model field-tunic ('Feldbluse M40') as was used by a mountain-troop soldier (ie. 'Soldat eines Gebirgsjäger-Regiments'). The tunic comes in an overall nice  condition.

The tunic shows a (standard-pattern-, field-grey-coloured- and/or 'BeVo'-woven) breast-eagle period-attached (attached by means of 'zig-zag'-stitching) and shows the (typical) EM-type collar-patches (ie. 'Einheitskragenspiegel') which are a bit damaged due to usage and wear. The tunic came with a (matching) pair of EM-type shoulder-straps attached: these have the darker-green (ie. 'Grüner') coloured branchcolour and field-grey-coloured 'upper decks'. The right upper-arm shows a darker-green-coloured 'Edelweiss'-patch attached.

We are aware that the green thread used for attaching the breast eagle is rather unsual, however the stiching was down before the liner was added to the tunic. The only option to re-attach the eagle would be to attach it through the lining which is not the case.

The tunic has a greyish-coloured-, linnen-based lining and bears a (hard to decypher) maker- ie. date (ie. size?) ink-stamp that has been faded-away during usage and wear.

The tunic retains all its buttons in place (of which a few might have been period-replaced). The tunic shows the typical 'pleaded' upper- and under-pockets and field-grey-coloured collar (as were specific for this pattern field-tunic).

The piece shows 3-holes (for the belt-hook attachment) and shows obvious wear, age and/or staining (but is void of any real damage or alike). The tunic has an approximate waist of 88 cms. and will fit a medium-sized mannequin.
