Very rare Grand Cross of the 1870 Iron Cross. It was originally used as a flag pole finial decoration. Period time convert into a neck badge.
Three-part construction. Iron core. The core has three fine stress cracks. Original black paint. The back of the cross was removed and replaced by a backplate. Additionally, a ring was added to the top. Engraved on the reverse "4.8.1870 KÖN.GRN.N.7 WEIB". Round suspension loop.
Including the matching 1930s neck ribbon. Length: 37.5 cm.
Size of the cross without the ring: 60.12x61.02 mm.
