A nice EM/NCO Luftwaffe sidecap which was period time upgraded to an officer's one by adding the silver officer's cord. Machine-embroidered cap insignia attached by hand. Cotton lining with a "53 1/2" size marking.
Nice patina. Clearly worn. No moth damage.
Including an original photo of the first owner of this sidecap. The EM/NCO insignia along with the officer's cord can clearly be seen.
The officer is "Erich Funke". The phoot was taken in spring 1940.
