Soldbuch to Kriegsmarine Hauptfeldwebel Otto Bleeck (11.08.1922 - 04.06.2020). Sold by the family in June 2020 after clearing his estate.
Bleeck served on board of U-365 which served exclusively against the Arctic Convoys from Britain to Murmansk and Archangelsk, principally targeting the Soviet forces which greeted the convoys in the Barents Sea. U-365 had 8 war patrols sinking one commercial vessel of 5,685 GRT and three military vessels for a total of 2,300 GRT.
Commanded by Kptlt. Heimar Wedemeyer (8 June 1943 – 17 November 1944) and Kptlt. Diether Todenhagen (18 November – 13 December 1944).
Units noted: Marinenachrichtenschule Aurich and 2. Unterseebootsausbildungsabteilung (U.A.A.).
Issued on 18. June 1941. Period time (!) replaced original photo. Awards: Minesweeper War Badge on 22.5.1943 and U-Boot War Badge on 24.5.1944. Noted on page 4. The Solduch is full of entries and gives a lot of room for further research. Two holes to the front cover.
