Hans Heerdt, born in 1918,  was promoted a Feldwebel on 1.1.1945 serving with Panzer-Ersatz-Abteilung 500 in Paderborn. Before, he was serving in the field with Panzer-Regiment 27 awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, the Tank Assault Badge, the East Medal and the Wound Badge in black. 

His unit in Paderborn used Tiger and Panther tanks which are shown inside his photo album. Heerdt had a small wound behind his right ear. A photo inside his album shows him being bandaged. This personal visor cap comes with a blood stain to the sweat-band caused by the same wound! In addition, he wears exactly that visor cap on a period time photo!

Untouched Panzer visor cap with period time photo proof. The cap shown on the portrait photo is exactly the same apart from the chin strap. He still wears his EM/NCO leather chin strap on the photo. Compare the eagle's head with its position left of the vertical front seam. See the slightly higher position of the cockade. Compare the large wrinkles to the left and right side.

Textbook privately purchased visor cap with period time attached aluminum insignia. One prong missing to the cap eagle. 
Fine silk lining with celluloid diamond. Maker marked. Size "58 1/2" marked.

Sweat-band with signs of wear, sweat-stains and bloodstains which came from a wound behind his right ear. There is a photo inside his photo album show him sitting on a desk being bandaged behind the ear! Original newspaper underneath the sweat-band.

Officer's chin strap. You can see tiny holes were the black buttons for his EM/NCO chin strap were placed earlier.

One small moth hole. Very nice shape. Condition 2.
