This cap has left the tailor as a white piped infantry visor cap and was later (period time!) converted into a transport cap after the soldier has switched branches. The white piping was simply colored. Please see close-ups. That has indeed happend a lot as it saved the owner buying a new cap.
Zinc wreath badge with aluminum cockade. Tombak cap eagle with three prongs. The insignia are most probably not original to this cap.
Silk lining with removed celluloid diamond. Brown sweat-band, not to flexible anymore. A small part of the visor seam has opened but it still sits firmly.
