Beschreibung

Excellent grouping to Unteroffizier Rudolf Kumpf serving with Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung Großdeutschland and Grenadier-Regiment Großdeutschland.

Certificates

Certificate to Close Combat Clasp in Bronze. Issued on 21.12.1944 by Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung Großdeutschland. Signed by a Rittmeister.

Certificate to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 9.1.1943 by Grenadier-Regiment Großdeutschland. A part of the Infanterie-Division Großdeutschland. Signed by Generalleutnant Walter Hoernlein (Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves winner). 

Certificate to Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze. Issued on 30.10.1942 by Grenadier-Regiment Großdeutschland. Signed by an Oberst. A4-size.

Certificates to Wound Badge in Black, 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, and East Medal.

All certificates have water stains. 

Awards

Close Combat Clasp in Silver. Made by Funcke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid. "F&B L" maker marked. Zinc. Remains of the silver-plating in place. The hinge was repaired on one side and the backplate (non-magnetic) was replaced. Magnetic pin. A worn clasp. Awarded on 20.2.1945 and promoted to Unteroffizhier at the same time. Proven by the notes in his Soldbuch. 

1939 Iron Cross 1st Class. Three-part construction. Iron core. Original black paint. "6." (Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart) maker marked to the pin. "Polished" swastika. With the original case of issue. Awarded on 20.2.1945.  

Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze. Zinc. Bronzed. Made by Hermann Wernstein. Maker marked to the back.

Wound Badge in Black. Tombak. The swastika on the front has been removed. 

Insignia

Heer "Großdeutschland" officer's cuff title. Black cloth ribbon. Hand-embroidered letters in aluminium wire threads. Silver piping to the top and bottom. Taken off his tunic. Length: 38 cm.  A piece with "been there character".

Panzeraufklärer "Großdeutschland" shoulder boards for an Unteroffizier. Black cloth. Golden-yellow piping. Machine-embroidered GD cyphers. Slip-on type. A matching pair and very hard to find!
