Rare Turkish navy officer's sabre. German pattern. Made by the German manufacturer Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.
A three-sided etched blade showing nice ornaments and naval motifs as well as the Turkish half-moon. "WKC" maker marked. The back of the blade also shows the etched name " Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie" of the maker. Some pittings areas.
Gilt brass hilt fittings with a lion's head pommel. Furthermore a real ivory grip. The wire wrapping is slightly damaged. Two folding crossguards. Black leather scabbard with gilt brass fittings. Signs of use but no dents. The blade can no longer be pushed 100% into the scabbard.
A worn sabre!
