Deutsches Reich 1918 - 1945
Heer Inf.Rgt.17 Uniformgruppe - Stabsfeldwebel

Beschreibung

Interesting early uniform grouping to a Stabsfeldwebel and WW1 veteran serving with Infanterie-Regiment 17. Members of that regiment had worn a "Braunschweig" skull to the caps. The grouping contains his tunic, visor cap and medals.

Visor cap:
Infanterie EM/NCO visor cap with white piping. A nicely matching pair of aluminum cap insignia with a very unusual early tombak skull badge attached underneath the cap eagle.

A rather early visor cap with orange color linen lining and an intact celluloid diamond. SIze 54 marked.
CLEMENS WAGNER marked sweat-band. "F.WEISSBACH" marked (seller?)

Very nice condition. No damage.

Tunic:
Early service tunic with all insignia period time attached. The tunic comes with all his medals including a 7 place ribbon bar, both of the Iron Cross repetition clasps, his 1914 Iron Cross 1st Clas, an Infantry Assault Badge and a Sport's Badge in bronze.
Machine-attached collar tabs. Machine-woven NCO/Officer's breast eagle attached by hand. Sewn-in white piped shoulder boards. Kompanie "6" buttons.
Silk lining. "Geprüft" stamped. The unit looks like I.R.42. He might have changed the unit.
All buttons complete and period time attached. Very early.
No moth damage. Very nice!

A shooting lanyard attached to a button underneath one shoulder board.

Medals:

Clasp to the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class: Excellent early tombak example with all prongs in place. The reverse can not be checked for a possible maker's mark
Clasp to the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class: Excellent tombak example. Unmarked. Lovely finish.
Infantry Assault Badge in silver. Early tombak example. Unmarked. Hollow constructed.
1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. KO marked. Silver.

Shooting lanyard in good condition.
