The grouping of Karlheinz Rauchhaus consist of first and foremost an 835 marked Spanish Cross in Silver with swords. As he was part of the Legion Condor, he not only was awarded that be also the Medalla de la Campagna and the Cruz Roja Merite Militaer on May 12, 1939. He furthermore received the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords on September 1, 1940 and early on the Air Force Long Service Cross on October 1, 1938. Rauchhaus continued after the war in Muenster, Westphalia, in the AirForce and retired as Oberstabsfeldwebel, the highest NCO rank in the German Army.

The group preserved the Spanish Cross next to his medal bar featuring all his awards as in War Merit Cross with Swords, Long Service Medal 4th class, Annexation medal for the Sudetenland, the Cruz Roja and the Spanish campaign medal. His ribbon bar mimics that combination minus the Sudetenland medal. There is also a golden sport badge and his Bundeswehr dog tag. The group would not be complete without his photo album accompanying his whole military career with many excellent pictures.
