Personal pocket watch of SS-Oberführer Erich Gritzbach. Known as "the right-hand man" of Hermann Göring. The watch was a commemorative gift from Oberjägermeister Peter Menthe to Gritzbach on the occasion of a hunt in the "Schorfheide". It was the personal hunting ground of Hermann Göring. Oberjägermeister Menthe also had the rank of SS-Oberführer and Wehrmacht Major d.R. Furthermore a member of the staff of Hermann Göring and Reichsführer-SS. His SS number was 240 129. Awarded the SS Honor Ring and SS Honor Degen.
The watch is made of genuine silver. "900" silver hallmarked and numbered "142855" inside. White enamel watch dial with 60-second subdial. A small "repair" to the enamel at the number "4". "Judex" maker marked. All hands and the winding crown are present and fully working. There is also another inscription inside (unknown). Probably the designer or constructor of the watch.
Engraved on the back "Herrn SS-Oberführer Erich Gritzbach - Zur Erinnerung an die Jagd in der Schorfheide - Oberjägermeister Peter Menthe". In the center is the DJ emblem (German Hunting Association).
