Excellent photos of Generalleutnant Theodor Scherer, who was the division commander of the 281. Sicherungs-Division. He was awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and the Cholm Shield for his service in the Kholm Pocket. The photos come directly from his family. Probably unpublished photos!
The lot consists of 36 excellent photos and 9 photos of drawings as well as one postcard. Most of the photos were taken at the front and show Generalleutnant Scherer with the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and the Cholm Shield. Also nice private shots of him. In one photo, he is seen with another Knight's Cross winner. Among them is a postcard with a hand-written dedication by him.

The photos were taken by the writer Richard Muck. In 1943 he wrote also the book "Kampfgruppe Scherer - 105 Tage eingeschlossen".
