Please note the stamps in his Soldbuch. There are also two entries in the Soldbuch that he served with Panzer-Grenadier Regiment "Großdeutschland".
Heer Soldbuch. Issued on 21.02.1940. His photo was re-attached. Its units are listed on pages 3, 4, and 17. Awards: 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, East Medal, Heer Driver's Badge in Bronze, and cuff title "Großdeutschland" (rare entry!) on 12. March 1945. Noted on page 22. There are also two entries that he served with an American Pionier-Bataillon after the war until September 1945. Please note pages 20 and 21. Page 5/6 is missing and the front cover has two holes.
Extremely rare US unit (1.Kfz Kp / b.336 amerikanisches Pionier Btl.) entry dated 1945! He must have been assigned to an US unit as a POW.
