A very rare 1st pattern "old style" visor cap for an officer with a soft leather visor. Collector's call this type of cap a "crusher cap". It was worn by a medic. A very rare branch to find this type of cap from!
Piping: Dark blue color for medical troops
Insignia: Machine-woven officer's cap eagle and wreath badge. The correct type of insignia for this cap. Attached by hand.
Sweat-band: Clear sign of wear. Some minor damage.
Lining: Fine silk lining with intact celluloid diamond. Some stains.
Visor: leather. It is not attached firmly anymore and only secured with a few stichtes.
Markings: EREL SONDERKLASSE EXTRA. EREL STIRNSCHUTZ marked to the sweat-band.
A nicely worn cap in good condition. Only two small moth holes found.
There is a period time metal ring inside to guarantee a good shape. The cap will certainly look more like a crusher cap if you want to remove it.
