A very rare battle damaged helmet! A shell splinter has hit the this helmet and was stopped by the aluminum ring. The splinter is still inside! The soldier definitely survived and probably sent this helmet back home as a souvenir.
Classic Wehrmacht M40 helmet. Original attached liner and chin strap. The chin strap is maker marked. The size of the liner should be 57. About 85% of the original feldgrau paint of the helmet in place. "Jö" named with white paint to the inside. Shell SE64 maker marked.

A true "been there" helmet. A unique and very rare piece of history!
