Waffen-SS - Dokumentengruppe des SS-Schützen Kießling

Beschreibung
Important grouping to SS-Schütze Franz Kießling born on 26.2.1901 in Dresden. Kiessling was one of 43 soldiers who got killed at Webling in April 1945, a small place near Dachau. It is known as the "Webling incident".

On 29. April 1945, 43 soldier of the Waffen-SS under command of SS-Sturmbannführer Freiherr Veit-Heinrich Tuchsees von Wetzhausen were killed by US GI's after the had surrendered.

Part of the grouping is his personal SS Soldbuch. A very rare 23.4.1945 issued ID. "SS-Oberabschnitt Süd" stamped. Serving "Batl.z.b.V. Reichsführer-SS". Original applied photo.

A signature of his commander SS-Hauptsturmführer Freiherr Veit-Heinrich Tuchsees von Wetzhausen on page 22 dated "Dachau, 25.4.45".
Nice very nice condition 1-.

A very late piece of Third Reich history documenting the nonsense of late war recruiting all men and young boys for senseless defeating.

The Soldbuch was given to the family on 18.1.1946 as a letter of the mayor of Dachau confirms. It was originally kept by the farmers of the ground the soldiers were killed. The document confirms he was killed at Webling and his exact grave position. Kießling was first put in a mass grave and had been given a new grave in 1946 by the city of Dachau.

His Wehrpaß with original applied photo. Mainly empty. He was never called up for service until April 1945.

Furthermore there are his DAF booklet, his work book, DRL sport certificates and his DRL Sports Badge booklet with photo. Also period time photos including photos showing Kießling in SA uniform.

Very interesting indeed is a 1940 hand-written CV of Franz Kießling from 1940. He says he volunteered to the SS on 1.8.1934 but was discharged on 1.2.1935 for unknown reason. The CV was written by Kießling as an "SA Anwärter" of Sturm 1/68.

There are many other period time documents to him but also postwar documents to his wife related to the massacre.

A very interesting grouping!
