Fallsch.Art.Rgt.2 Ogfr. Teuschel Dokumentengruppe Festung Brest 1944

Beschreibung
Grouping to Fallschirmjäger Obergefreiter Teuschel serving with Fallschirm-Artillerie-Regiment 2 which was part of 2. Falschirmjäger-Division. Teuschel was defending "Festung Brest" in August 1944. Part of the grouping is his last letter, dated "Brest, 10.8.1944" he sent to his parents together with his Christian lucky charm which is still part of the grouping. He asks the family to keep it. An impressive document of history! He mentions that his unit is inside a pocket and this letter will be delivered by an U-Boot since there is no other way out: "... ein U-Boot bringt die Post noch durch sonst sind wir von allen Seiten eingeschlossen!"
He prepares himself for his last fight: "... wir werden bis zum letzten Mann kämpfen .... wir werden den Amerikanern zeigen was deutsche Fallschirmjäger sind...."

Teuschel has survived his last fight and was sent to the US as a POW.

Certificate to the War Merit Cross and the Iron Cross 2nd Class (original signature by division commander Ramcke)
Both document as well as some photos look to are covered with some sort of a foil. That definitely happened decades ago. There were glued somewhere. See paper rest to the reverse. Documents and photos might have been part of a display of the veteran.

Nice photo with jumping smock and helmet. Photos with KS 750 sidecar motorcycle to the reverse: "Kampf um Rom" etc...

1957 miniature lapel pins.

Wartime letters as well as letters of his time as a POW.

More details on the letter sent from "Festung Brest" on 10.08.1944.

My beloved parents, today they told us that this is the last time that we can write our families. Letters can make their way through only by U-Boat because we are surrounded from all sites ... we will fight here until last man standing because we love our home and fatherland. I don´t know what the next days will bring, will I become a POW or will I give my life for Germany and our Führer. .. beloved parents when you see your last days on earth coming, you gonna love your life even more now. But it doesn't matter, we will show the americans what german paratroopers are!
