A very interesting field tunic which looks to be a Küstenartillerie field tunic. Coastal Artillery however, usually has the bottom pocket flaps cut angular. This one has it cut straight.
The collar tabs, Gefreiter rank sleeve badge and the shoulder boards were inside one breast pocket. The breast eagle is missing. You can see clear shadows on the tunic where the insignia were removed. The collar tabs are still in good condition with signs of wear. The rank chevron is a little more damaged.
The tunic comes with a hand-attached Waffen-SS Edelweiss sleeve badge for Gebirgsjäger. Why and when this was attached, you can only guess.
Silk lining with size stamps. No makers mark. Belt hooks.
Overall well worn condition with a lot of character. Also, a few moth holes.
