Wehrmacht, M40 steel-helmet with winter-camouflage paint ('Wintertarnanstrich'). The helmet retains its period and complete liner (which shows an aluminum-ring) and came with its (partially complete) leather-based (and non-marked) helmet-strap (one of its parts has been period-replaced by making use of a part of a roller-buckle-strap as can be seen on the pictures). The liner shows an inked size-stamp (that reads: '60') and comes with its period drawstring in place.
The liner is affixed by means of its 3 (period- and non-altered) rivets. The steel-helmet shows the stamped makers'- (ie. size) designation: 'E.F. 68' and shows the numeral: '20750'. The helmet retains its green-coloured colour (as can be seen on the inside) that is somewhat roughly structured on the outside and has been period 'white-washed' with white-coloured paint.
The piece shows moderate wear and usage and shows some staining, dirt and obvious paint-loss: it has, however, never been cleaned and comes as found.
