Nachlass Ehrenpreis der Marineflieger an Lt. Becht

Beschreibung
Important grouping to Leutnant Becht serving with Marine-Feld-Jagdstaffel I. Becht was awarded the "Ehrenpreis der Marineflieger" during WWI for shooting down an enemy aircraft on 20.9.1918. The exact amount of awards is unknown today. Of approximately 150 trophies awards, only a very few originals are known today. To find a grouping never have been on the market like this, is nearly impossible.

Leutnant Philip Becht served as a Staffelführer of Marine-Feld-Jagdstaffel I from 2.9.1918 until the end of the war. Marine-Feld-Jagdstaffel I was found on 1.2.1917 and served on the Western front with its base at Neumünster, Aertrycke and Coolkerke. Becht also served during WWII in the rank of a Hauptmann.

Honor trophy for naval pilots with original tag to the wooden base: "Dem Sieger im Luftkampf 20. Sept.1918 Leutnant d. R.M.F. Becht". Typical blackened oak base. Fighting eagles from solid bronze. Top eagle slightly moving. Excellent patina.
Height: 26cm. No damage. Condition 2. Extremely rare.

A period time photo album containing photos of his WWI period time as well as photos taken during the "Third Reich". He wears a DLV membership badge on one photo for example. Two are taken during WWII. One shows him in Luftwaffe service uniform as a Leutnant wearing the Pilot's Badge. Another one shows him in the field wearing a summer pilot's suit as a Hauptmann. Becht could have served with a Jagdgeschwader during WWII since a 1965 dated "Jägerblatt" magazine is part of the grouping.

One interesting photograph on the first page of his album shows Becht sitting on his waterplane. Single photos such as a signed photograph of the pilot Vfw. Fritz Schulz (FA A 233, 17.03.1892 - 13.07.1917 Bruilles les Marchiennes). Furthermore two framed (original glass) photos of Becht's earlier days. One shows him standing in front of an airplane, one with other comrades. 50 photos in total.

A rare grouping of historical importance.
