A very rare SS "STREIFENDIENST" gorget. Likely made by Wilhelm Schröder & Co. (RZM M5/140). Multi-piece construction.
Nickel-silver shield. The center of the gorget features a medaillon with the SS runes, black painted background. Below a separately applied “STREIFENDIENST” banner. Made of brass, rests of the gilding visible. On each side a gilded brass "button".
Original black cloth backing. Three attached clips on the back. "SS" and RZM "140" maker marked. Complete with its full length original chain (non-magnetic).
