Important grouping of a German WW1 pilot who had served with Turkish troops in 1918. A so-called "Palestinaflieger". This lot contains his medals which are clearly shown on the photograph of him.
The photograph comes with information to the reverse which were period time done. It was taken in August 1918. The name of the pilot is "Fritz Dobberstein" (?). "Flugzeugführer Ltn. in türkischen Diensten" (pilot and Leutnant serving with Turkish troops).
The photo comes in an old frame with original glass. Size: 16,5cm x 12cm. It shows the pilot wearing the Turkish Pilot's Badge, the Turkish Gallipoli Star as well his 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class.
Iron Cross 1st Class in very nice condition. Meybauer maker marked. Magnetic iron center.
Gallipoli Star with fine red enamel. BB & Co. maker marked. No damage. Nice condition.
Pilot's Badge from tombak. Multi-piece construction. Period time repaired catch.
