An Italian M1891 bayonet worn by an Austrian soldier during WWI.
The blade comes with an acceptance mark as well as "FP ?" maker marked (hard to read). Wooden grip plates. Including an attached metal tag "Weihnachten 1915" (Christmas 1915). The crossguard "Z 7837" stamped.
Leather scabbard with brass metal fittings. "ME" stamped to the frog stud. With the matching leather frog and an Austrian portepee. The felt backing of the frog is worn off and the seam has slightly opened on one side.
Signs of use and age. Good condition.
