Lt. Berchtold - K.G.54 document grouping - anti-partisan

Beschreibung

Document grouping to Leutnant Andreas Berchtold. He served as Flugzeugführer with 2. and 4./Kampfgeschwader 54. His unit was involved in the Allied invasion of Sicily (9. July to 17. August 1943) and Normandy "D-Day". The II. Group was stationed the whole year 1942 on the Eastern Front. There the unit attacked the bases of the partisans and railway stations as well as destroyed the rail network.

Certificate to Luftwaffe Pilot's Badge. Issued on 15.10.1941. Facsimile General der Flieger Gustav Kastner-Kirdorf. Folded.

Certificate to Squadron Clasp for Kampfflieger in bronze. Issued on 20. April 1943. Signed by Major Volprecht Riedesel Freiherr zu Eisenbach (Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves winner). 

Certificate to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 8. May 1943. Signed by Generalmajor Martin Harlinghausen (Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves winner). 

Certificate to 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class. Issued on 8. February 1944. Signed by Generalfeldmarschall Hugo Sperrle (Knight's Cross winner). 

Certificate to Squadron Clasp for Kampfflieger in silver. Issued on 23. August 1944. Signed by Major and Gruppenkommandeur Schmit? Folded.

Promotion certificate in the original folder. Promoted to Leutnant. Dated 16. June 1942. Facsimile Hermann Göring. Double-sided.

Furthermore two WWI documents of his father Karl Berchtold.

Certificate to 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 9.6.1917. Folded.

Certificate to Bavarian Military Merit Cross 3rd Class with swords and crown. Issued on 12. July 1917.
