Waffen-SS M40 field tunic with postwar attached original insignia consisting of an RZM machine-embroidered EM/NCO sleeve eagle, an SS-Sturmmann rank chevron and a machine-embroidered Gebirgsjäger Edelweiss badge.
Field tunic as worn by Waffen-SS troops. 3-hole pattern. Cotton lining with size markings and a maker's mark. Large bits of the lining was cut out.
Large bits of the front bottom pockets replaced. Some large piece of cloth was attached above the front side (left side) once. You can see the seam.
Award loops and loops for a ribbon bar! Sleeves slightly shortened and sewn-together (period time). Dark green postwar collar added.
No moth damage but many repairs. Still an original Waffen-SS field blouse.
