Family purchased tunic! Never available on the market before!

Untouched South Front field tunic for a Hauptmann serving with a transport unit of Reserve-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 18. The regiment was founded in July 1944. This tunic is an extremely rare example worn by an officer or a rare late war unit towards the end of the war. It was never in collector's hands and never available on the market before. 

Privately purchased light weight summer "South Front" tunic. Khaki color linen. Entirely originally attached insignia! Machine-attached transport officer's collar tabs. Light-blue piping. Hauptmann shoulder boards with matching light-blue color. Gilt "18" cyphers. Hand-embroidered officer's breast eagle attached by hand. Hand-attached loops for a ribbon bar (5cm) with a clear shadow prooing a ribbon bar was worn on this position. 
Originally attached War Merit Cross 2nd Class ribbon. Again, a dark shadow underneath it. Machine-embroidered Gebirgsjäger sleeve badge attached by machine.

No lining as it is absolutely typical for South Front tunics. The lining is not missing! Felt reinforcement to the inner button line.

Zinc War Merite Cross 1st Class. 3 maker marked. Rest of the original "Zapon" lacquer to the reverse!

An amazing tunic! Clearly worn and sun bleached. Nice condition 2. Medium size. A rare chance!
