Rare Kriegsmarine U-Boot rebreather (escape life jacket). So-called "Tauchretter".
Made of dark red water-resistant canvas. Brass metal parts. Originally attached 98 cm long black cloth belt with 14 brass grommets. So-called "Schwanzstück". White lettering to the front "Tauchretter" and "Werk-Nr. 800379?" (hard to read). The brass nut to attach the tube for the mouthpiece is in place. The piece (filter?) to the left of the nut is missing. Including the original mouthpiece with the tube. The rubber of the mouthpiece is slightly damaged. Ink stamped the reverse, however, unreadable.
