Knight's Cross recipient Oberstleutnant Horst von Petersdorff (1892-1962) was a SA-Oberführer in Gau Berlin. He was involved in putting down the "Stennes-Putsch" against Hitler. As a Wehrmacht officer he was awarded the Knight's Cross on 29.6.1940 serving as a Hauptmann with III./Inf.Rgt 189. Von Petersdorff was arrested shortly after the von July 20th (von Stauffenberg) plot against Hitler. He was discharged on 15.9.1944 and accused at the "Volksgerichtshof". He was cleared of him being involved in the 20th July plot however arrested in KZ as a "Sonderhäfling" (special inmate) unil the end of the war.
A large-size portrait photography of Knight's Cross winner Oberst Horst von Petersdorff. "Foto Zeitz Königssee 1942" marked. Pasted to a wooden board. Slight stains and one small crack. The photo was developed in the 50s. Most probably by the veteran himself.
