A scare NPEA Leader's Dagger. Worn by teachers of the National Political Institutes of Education. So-called "NAPOLA".
Etched blade with the motto "Mehr sein als scheinen." Pitting. Made by Karl Burgsmüller, Berlin-Charlottenburg. Maker marked. Brown wooden handle with a national eagle. Signs of use and chipping. Early nickel crossguards. "N 259" stamped to the front.
Anodized steel scabbard. Period time olive green repainted (around 25 % present). Underneath you can still see the original paint. Slight dents, mainly on the left edge. Both screws in place. The frog stud is not stamped to the reverse.
