Important honor certificate in original folder awarded to Gauleiter of Gau Düsseldorf Friedrich Karl Florian.
It was awarded on to him in 1940 for the 10th anniversary of him becoming a Gauleiter.
They youth hostel "Jugendherberger" in Ratingen was built from 1938 - 1940 and named "GAULEITER FLORIAN JUGENDHERBERGE" to his honor. This was approved by Baldur von Schirach as it says on the document.
"Zum 10 jährigen Gauleiter Jubiläum wird die Jugendherberge Ratingen mit Genehmigung d. Reichsjugendführers Baldur von Schirm Gauleiter Florian Jugendherberge benannt. Die Jugendherberge wurde erbaut im Jahre 1938 u. vollendet i. Kriegsjahr 1940. Landesverband Rheinland für deutsche Jugendherbergen."
It was signed by a Hauptbannführer.
High quality parchment document. Overall hand-written lettering. A picture of the youth hostel signed by Leo Assenmacher to the bottom.
The document comes in the original leather bound folder with "1940" and the crest of the city of Düsseldorf and Ratingen printed on leather to the front cover. Original red-white cord.
The document was once framed with a blue leather frame like the one you can see to the left side. Why it was removed, we can't say.
The document is not damaged. It would be well worth added a new blue leather frame to professionally restore it.
