D-Day & Stalingrad A.R. 243 & 344 document grouping to Lt. Hager

Beschreibung

Document grouping to Leutnant Hans Hager serving with Artillerie-Regiment 243 and 344 as well as Infanterie-Division 297.

The Artillerie-Regiment 243 was transferred to Normandy in September 1943 and destroyed there in June 1944. Furthermore the Artillerie-Regiment 344 (part of 344. Infanterie-Division) was also involved in D-Day. Destroyed in Normandy in the summer of 1944. Recreated on 11. December 1944. Please note the service stamp "352. Infanterie-Division" on the 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class certificate. The division defended Omaha Beach on 6. June 1944. Probably he fought also in Stalingrad. In 1941 and 1942 his unit was a part of the Infanterie Division 297. Involved in the Battle of Stalingrad from November 1942 until January 1943. A very interesting grouping!
