Genlt. von Rappard - personal 4-pocket tunic

Beschreibung

Personal 4-pocket service tunic to Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves recipient Fritz-Georg von Rappard (1892 - 1946). Von Rappard was awarded the Knight's Cross on 20.10.1944 and the Oak Leaves on  24.2.1945. He was sentenced to death for war crimes by the Russian authorities in 1946.

Fine quality privately purchased tunic he had bought as an Oberstleutnant in 1938. It comes with a period time attached name tag by the tailor "Averbeck & Bröskamp" named to "Oberstlt. v. Rappard". The date is 1938. Von Rappard would have carried on wearing this tunic throughout the years so he had it promoted up to Generalleutnant. The insignia would have been period time re-applied.

A fine ornamented tunic with red piping along the button line and piping along the collar and the cuffs. Complete with all buttons. A small button underneath the right shoulder board for an aiguillette and another one to help closing the tunic to the front side.

Machine-attached collar tabs. Hand-attached breast eagle. Nicely matching patina to both. The shoulder boards look less worn. Maybe due to this pair being added after promotion. The former seam for his officer's collar tabs can be seen to the reverse of the collar.

Four pair of awards loops with perfect signs of wear and patina! All loops are certainly period time. Two awards are still attached. A fine tombak Clasp to the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class and the actual 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. Both are unmarked. Furthermore several loops for a long ribbon bar. Again, with clear signs of wear and patina.

Fine silk lining including a period time attached tailor's tag. Medium size. Minor moth bites.
