Battle of Cholm - Grouping to Uffz. Mossner

Beschreibung
Extremely important grouping to Unteroffizier Hans Mossner, a group leader and participant in the battle of Cholm serving with Infanterie-Regiment 386 which was part of the 218.Infanterie-Division. Two certificates as well as two important photo albums.

The first album (we are showing album No.2 first here) starts in 1939 with the Poland and France Campaigns, shows photos of the regiment returning to Germany after the battles, contains photos taken in Denmark in 1941 and ends with the Russian Campaign when being sent to Cholm. The first page documenting the battles in Cholm is titled "Im kalten Winter 1941/42 nach Russland". Below: "Einschliesung 20.1.-6.5.42 in Cholm". There are 69 photos taken in Cholm in 1941/42 in the first album which contains roughly 324 photos in total. A great documentation of his wartime from 1939-1941.

The second album contains photos taken in 1942,43,44 and 1945. In combination with the Cholm photos of album No. 1, this is an outstanding rare document of the battle of Cholm and contains the best photos we have seen taken in Cholm. It starts with an original portrait photo of Unteroffizer Mossner taken in March 1945. He wears the Infantry Assault Badge in silver, the Wound Badge in silver, the ribbon bar for the East Medal as well as the ribbon for the Iron Cross 2nd Class and of course his CHOLM shield. A very rare photograph!
Another rare photo of the regiment commander of Inf.Rgt.386 Oberleutnant Johannes Manitius who received his Knight´s Cross on 3.4.1942. It shows him straight after the award ceremony. 95 photos in total in this album so roughly 420 photos altogether.

Both albums are in good condition 2. No photos are missing!

Certificate to Infantry Assault Badge in silver. Awarded on 2.7.1942 to Mossner serving with 10./Inf.Rgt.386. Signed by the regiment commander. Folded twice. Two holes. Damage to the right top corner.
Scarce certificate to the Cholm Shield. 31.10.1942 dated and signed by Generalmajor Scherer. Awarded to Mossner as a Gefreiter serving with 1./Inf.Rgt.386. "Kampfgruppe Scherer (Abwicklung) stamped. Folded once. Two holes. Pencil writing to the reverse.

A extremely rare piece of history.
