Very rare Gebirgsjäger parade uniform for a radio operator serving with Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 98. A very fine example without any moth damage and period time attached insignia all over. Machine-attached collar and arm tabs. Edelweiss, breast eagle and radio operator badge attached by hand. Nice "98" stitched EM boards. Matching colors and patina all over. This tunic was never stamped and there is no tailors label. Very nice condition 2+. Size M.
The tunic was part of a very old collection of a collector who passed away a long time. We found a paper inside with a note of him:
"Ausgehuniform für Gebirgsjäger mit 2 Tätigkeitsabzeichen 1939/45 --- 160,-"
That explains he must have bought that tunic decades ago for 160 German Marks which are equivalent to 80 Euros today. In other words, this tunic is now available on the international market for the first time.
