War photographer HANS ZORN - Family purchased grouping

Beschreibung
Family purchased grouping to Wehrmacht war photographer Hans Zorn. He shot the most famous photo of Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel standing in his car in Afrika. Zorn was a close friend of Afrika veteran and Knight´s Cross recipient Oberstleutnant Georg Briel (Heeres-Flak-Btl. 606). Zorn is mentioned in many books about the Afrika Campaign.

A 1937 dated letter sent to "Fotografenmeister Hans Zorn" congratulating to the 1st prize of the "Meisterwettkampf 1937" of the "Berufsgruppe Fotografen". It was sent by the DAF along with a beautiful color DIN A4 size award certificate. Again, issued to "Fotografenmeister Hans Zorn" and with two original signatures. Not folded. A very rare example to a war photographer! Never seen before.

"There are 8 really nice original photographs. One is a beautiful portrait of Hans Zorn with his visor cap, an excellent photo showing Hans Zorn with his photo on a stand with his card in the background, two photos with his children, another small portrait with visor cap and one photo showing the logo of HANS ZORN AMBERG. Certainly the best original photograph shows Hand Zorn developing photos at the Bildstelle Greifswald.

There are 12 postwar developed photographs by Hans Zorn. One shows Zorn in front of his photo studio pre 1945. All others were taken by him in Afrika. This lot also includes the famous Rommel photograph.

Finally roughly 95 photos taken by Hans Zorn. Nearly all of them are pre 1945 originals.
