Superb and extremely rare German Paratrooper splinter camouflage clip-on helmet cover. One of the rarest covers possible to find. The helmet cover was sourced out of the veteran family (Karl Bäcker). Helmet cover is in virtually mint unissued condition with vibrant and contrasting colors. All the clips are complete and factory hand sewn. Constructed of Luftwaffe splinter camouflage panels, made of a thiner canvas material. Main foliage band is present and factory sewn around the helmet. Cross strap on the top of the helmet, made of thinner blue/grey width cloth is also present and untouched. Main band comes together in the back and is sewn into the sections seem. The inside of the cover is in perfect condition, only blue ink stamped with the size « 68 ». The reason the cover is in this mint unissued condition is because they did a mistake when they applied the size marking at the factory because it is a size « 66 ». So the soldier never wore it and left it at home. A small insignia grouping came with the cover and a copy of each document the family kept.
