Superb and extremely rare M1940 Luftwaffe Paratrooper green step-in smock. Model worn by the vast majority of German paratroopers during the invasion of Crete. The pinnacle piece of any Paratrooper or Luftwaffe collection. Overall the smock is in excellent slightly worn condition, only a few damages present on the right lower arm, caused by burns. The smock is constructed in green « grünmeliert » material, manufactured by the firm « Rudolph, Hubert & Cie. », dated « 6/41 » and a size of « 1B ». It retains its original factory applied and correctly zig-zag machine stitched « grünmeliert » backed eagle. The four main zippers of the pockets are made by « RHEINNADEL », the main central zipper and the two side access zippers are made by « RAPID ». They all retain their factory sewn brown leather pull tabs and are all functional. Snaps are marked « PRYM 6 ». A very difficult to find example and truly iconic uniform of the Fallschirmjäger.
