Grouping to Knight's Cross winner Oberleutnant Heinrich Südel (1920-2011). Südel served as an air gunner and observer with K.G.55 "Greif". He was awarded the German Cross on 5.10.1942 and the Knight's Cross on 23.4.1945. Südel has survived the war and attended to many veteran's meetings. Photos of him taken in modern days are available on the internet. All awards and his dagger & sword were sold to his daughter and were never available on the market before.
Early Luftwaffe officer's dagger with interesting hangers! The hangers come with a black felt backing and black leather reinforcements to the top clipper. A quite interesting variant.
Early dagger with tombak medal parts showing matching patina. Luftwaffe cross guard with oak leaf ornaments to the top. Orange handle. A Heer portepee (longer) was worn with this dagger.
Fine iron scabbard without damage. Clean, unmarked blade.
The spring inside the scabbard is a bit to weak to hold the scabbard properly.
