A very rare M18 helmet re-issued by the German Heer after 1935. A so-called "cut-out" pattern which was mainly issued to cavalry troops.
What makes this helmet even rarer is its period time applied camo paint with sand mix it. Around 75% are still present. The eagle decal is about 80%.
The shell is ET64 maker and size marked and the soft leather liner looks to be "55" stamped. There is another "62" lot number stamp to the shell.
The rivets were applied after adding the camo paint period time.
A very nice and rare helmet with a lot of character!
