A nicely worn and slightly sun bleached visor for a Gebirgsjäger officer. You can clearly see that the color of the cap was darker once if you look at covered areas. There is a clear shadow underneath the cap eagle as well which is perfectly matching the eagle. There is no clear shadow underneath the Edelweiss cap badge so that might have attached at a later time.
Hand-embroidered wreath badge with aluminum cockade. Green color "Gebirgsjäger" piping.
Fine silk lining with "Gahlers, Potsdam" maker marked intact celluloid diamond. Grey color sweat-band with "WP" initial markings. Nicely worn with a great patina.
