Heer Tropenfeldbluse M40

Beschreibung

Privately purchased tropical tunic attributed to General Wolfgang Fischer.  Fischer, commander of 10. Panzer-Division since 1941, served in Africa from November 1942. He was awarded the Oak Leaves on 9.12.1942. His division was part of the 5. Panzerarmee. During a recon mission near "Mareth", Fischer's vehicle was hit by a mine. Fischer died on 1.2.1943 near Sbikka, Tunesia.

Light-weight khaki color 4-pocket field tunic with open collar. Machine-attached collar tabs. Traces of previously attached collar tabs. Hand-attached shoulder boards for a Generalleutnant. Matching patina!
Fischer was posthumously promoted a General.

Gilt metal breast eagle. Attached are trough reinforced holes. Several awards loops that do look artificial ages and postwar attached.
Buttons attached with rings.
Stains (blood?) to the reverse. Clear signs of wear and age.
A "FW" cloth initial name tag attached to the inside.

Including a "FW" engraved silver cigarette case with a few cigarettes and a general's rank pip still inside. Furthermore, ten original photos of his funeral.

An important piece of Afrikakorps history!
