A M16 helmet maker marked and dated "1917" to the leather lining. It was re-issued for the Reichswehr in the 1930s and therefore overpainted with a darker grey.
The helmet only shows minor signs of wear and comes with the original leather lining and leather ring. Even the leather chin strap connected to two "buttons M91" is still attached.
Later type of rivets with black paint. Certainly period time (1930s) to this helmet.
The shell looks to be ET64 marked.
A very nice example with, however, one ventilation bolt missing!
