Nickel-plated iron handle fittings with some corrosion showing through the nickel. The pommel bears the SS runes. The handle is made of blackened wood. The original black painted scabbard has a nickel-plated fitting showing similar wear to the rest of the sword. A brown leather buffer pad is still around the blade. The throat is marked with "SS" runes overlaid. It has no dents.
