A German M40 helmet which was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polizei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Heer.
Painted in fieldgrey paint the helmet shows 85% paint on the outside with a remarkably well preserved national eagle decal.
The inside shows signitificant surface rust and paint loss around the rim but the dome is quite clean. There is a liner stamped 58. It is missing its cord and is quite dry and cracked but appears to be original to the helmet.
Chin strap: Rb-numbered and servicable.
Markings: Q66 and 'R1873' also stamped on the helmet
